I don't think running red is worth it. All you are gaining is an extra discard outlet (Ravings) but, you are not trying to play Reanimator, nor is it improving your draw power really. Day of Judgment is just better than Slagstorm. So I guess Galvanic Blast is cool, but hardly worth splashing for, you know? I think you are just going to stress your mana-base too much.

Seems your splashing red just to play inferior cards. Day of judgment >Slagstorm, Forbidden Alchemy >Desperate Ravings.

Nice repost, bro. Although I will have to disagree with Forbidden Alchemy > Desperate Ravings. I think it depends on the deck honestly. But for Flare decks, yes, Alchemy is the better card to run.

Both ravings and alchemy are in the list.

I can see that. What I am trying to get at is that splashing red isn't doing you a whole ton of good, and is stressing your mana needlessly.

ok in Jason's defense lets find out why he did what he did... SO Jason reasoning? All i can se other than the whole ravings alchemy debate is you get faster spot removal vs fast aggro decks with the shocks or whatever and then you get a faster sweeper against them with slagstorm you know a turn earlier and such but its still 1RR so kinnda tough. reason overall i was just brainstorming what a grixis list would look like if it could reanmite better creatures than oliva...as you can see there is hardly any white in the list it is mostly there for the flashback cost of rites. double red is no harder than double white just takes proper mana base planning.

#2 - raving is much better than ponder or think twice for a deck that likes to play with the graveyard

#3 - Slagstorm is usually all thats needed and the shocks are sexy vs all the delver/rdw/haunted human type creatures

but mostly its just for fun =)
